I get this question a lot, and here is my thought leadership on this:
"You don’t really know who you are until you’ve walked far enough that no one knows your name. Travel strips away the ego. It humbles you. It teaches you in ways no book or mentor ever could. A foreign place where people don’t speak your language will teach you more about yourself than a lifetime of comfort ever will. That’s the key ingredient, and that’s where the real you shows up."
My leadership style is very much that of a facilitator and draws in the team’s input. When there is a tiebreaker, I lean into the choice that generates energy for the group.
My thoughts: Your purpose and life journey don’t have to be grand or important to anyone else—it just simply has to be yours. That said, we could all use some healthy challenges in life.
My thoughts: Climb your mountain, not someone else’s mountain.
